12th Annual Barefoot Brigade Dance Festival Brought Three Weeks of Dance to the Bath House

This year’s dance festival sponsored by the Barefoot Brigade Modern Dance Coalition, a collective of regional modern dance companies, extended its performance to 3 weeks (Thursdays through Saturdays) at the Bath House Cultural Center beginning Thursday, January 10 and running through January 26.

It was the largest performance for the regional collective according to festival organizers. The program featured three separate programs, each with a theme, and a total of 12 shows, 22 groups (half that made festival debuts) and 29 works.  Week 1: “Dwelling”, January 10-12, was an entire weekend of dance inspired by the photography exhibit, Vanishing Dallas: Architectural Preservation by Five PhotographersWeek 2: “pARTners in Crime“, January 17- 19, featured interdisciplinary works created in collaboration with other musicians, media designers, projections, artists, and dancers. Week 3: “All New Stuff”, January 24- 26, presented a new piece created for the Barefoot Brigade Dance Festival.
