About the Movies

F.W Murnau’s Nosferatu is widely considered to be the most famous and enduring depiction of the vampire mythos ever made.

Max Schreck’s depiction as the sinister Court Orlock has become an unforgettable persona in the history of cinema.  In Robert Wiene’s The Hands of Orlac, a celebrated pianist receives a crucial transplant in order to save his performing career, only to realize that a more sinister force may be controlling his every move.

His earlier film, the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, has been credited as the first horror film ever made. Filled with somnambulists, fatalistic oracles and crazed hypnotists, the film is as striking today as it was at its debut screening in 1921.
