Call to Action for Funding the Arts and Cultural Facilities!
Friends of the Bath House and Arts Supporters
Proposed allocations for the City of Dallas 2024 Bond was presented on Wednesday, March 1st at the City Council Meeting at City Hall.
The preliminary recommendation from the City’s bond committee for arts and cultural facilities is substantially lower than promised when the last bond program had only $14 Million allocated across the 17 facilities under OAC (Office of Arts & Culture). There was reassurance that the next bond program planned for 2024 would make up for that very low allocation in the 2017 bond program. It appears that has not happened.
The City of Dallas is proposing a $1.8B bond issue for 2024 to the voters of the City of Dallas. The OAC proposed $40M for maintenance for their facilities. The City has taken that request and reduced it to $15M. At the minimum, the Friends have been seeking an additional amount of monies for the Bath House to paint and repair the outside. We need your active support to advocate for the support of not only the Bath House but for the arts in general.
We ask that you reach out to your City Council Member requesting that he/she support full funding for the Arts! Because of our collective voices, the Bath House was included on the 2017 Bond and we now have full staffing! Our voices are heard! Let’s show our support for the arts in Dallas!

Please continue to advocate; Arts and Culture nourish our souls.
