By Gerald Sibleyras – Translated by Tom Stoppard

It is August 1959 and we are on the grounds of a French “sanctuary” for Veterans of the First World War. On a secluded bench (well guarded by a stone dog) sit Phillipe, who is afflicted by bouts of unconsciousness brought about by cranial shrapnel, Gustav, who suffers from agoraphobia, and Henri, who periodically limps into town and reports back that he has discovered a local girls’ school and its lovely headmistress. They decide to undertake an expedition and they immediately fall into an argument about the details of the trip: what route to take, and what provisions, and should they build a raft.

Group rates are available to groups of ten or more patrons.
