By Dallas playwright Lon Rogers – Directed by Taylor Bunn

Matthew Shelton, a world-famous American playwright, loses his seventeen-year-old son Daniel to death in a tragic auto accident. In an attempt to give his dead son a place in literary history, Matthew writes a play about him. But with the play finished, his grief overcomes him, and he is unable to consent to its production. The manuscript remains hidden and unread by others in a trunk in the basement of Matthew’s home. The play opens twenty years later after Matthew accidentally comes across the manuscript and decides to press for the play’s production.

Losing Daniel is the story of a playwright who devotes his life to the smoke and mirrors of the stage, only to become entangled in his own blurred inner narrative.
