Peavy Landmark Tree Rebirth Art Auction Set for Art Mart

The Peavy Landmark Tree Rebirth Art Auction

arose out of an unfortunate incident where a landmark Dallas Parks and Recreation pecan tree was vandalized. With twelve sections of its limbs salvaged, The Friends of the Bath House, surrounding neighborhood associations, and the Bath House Cultural Center are commemorating this loss by inviting selected artists into reimagining the wood into individual works of art, thus celebrating its rebirth through the hands of these artisans.  The central theme for this competition is a commemoration of a felled tree.   The artwork will be on display throughout Art Mart, culminating with a live auction on Sunday, November 19, at 4:30 pm.

Participating artists include Cynthia Daniel, Melanie Brannan, Ryan McCutcheon, David Chandler, Debra Molotsky, Edith Torres, Maegan Kirschner, Michael Galgan, Sharon Neel-Bagley, T. Stone, Chris Lyons, VET, and Vicki Charlotta.
