Uke-a-Palooza: So Many Songs, Such a Great Time!
In the early evening of June 21, over 100 singers, strummers, foot-tappers, and lip-syncers (the latter being me), gathered in the Bath House’ theatre to celebrate the international Make Music Dallas Day. If guests didn’t come bearing a musical instrument, they were provided ukuleles, kazoos, and songbooks to play along with the East Dallas Uke-a-Ladies. Prior to starting the event, a brief uke-a-class was conducted; visitors were up and strumming along with the introduction of a few simple chords.
For songs that had an interesting provenance, their stories would be shared.
All in all, it was a very musical, good solstice night!
