Visions of the Lake in the White Rock Lake Museum
On Saturday, February 2, Visions of the Lake included small-scale watercolor paintings by local artist Fran McRedmond that capture the scenic life of White Rock Lake. With her deceptively simple renderings, Ms. McRedmond depicts leisure activities that lake visitors enjoy, as well as the magnificent ways in which people, animals, and nature co-exist in this highly regarded destination of Dallas.
Although she admired and practiced different art techniques, Ms. McRedmond always felt a special fascination with watercolor art. Recently, the artist discovered that over the years she has amassed an extensive collection of small sketches and paintings of White Rock Lake and she realized how much she loves connecting with the beautiful and whimsical in nature. By presenting these small works of art, the artist hopes that others will be able to relate to her love of the lake and the environment.
The exhibition was on display through April 21.
